Dr. Robert Habeck

is among the defining political figures of recent years. As Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (2021–2025), he found himself in the midst of global crises and social upheaval.

Robert Habeck, born in Lübeck in 1969, studied philosophy, German language and literature, and philology in Freiburg, Hamburg, and Roskilde, Denmark, and received his doctorate in philosophy in 2000. He worked as a freelance writer for more than a decade before entering politics in 2002.

In Schleswig-Holstein, he initially took on responsibility as State Chairman, later as Minister for Energy Transition, Agriculture, Environment, and Digitalization, and as Deputy Minister-President.

From 2018 to 2022, he was Federal Chairman of Bündnis 90/Die Grünen (Alliance 90/The Greens). His politics are shaped by the conviction that transformation can only succeed through a combination of responsibility, dialogue, and social cohesion.
Habeck embodies an approach to politics that strives to connect complex issues and views politics not merely as regulation, but as a means of enabling progress.
