Nemat is one of the leading voices at the intersection of technology, business, and innovation. The physicist and mathematician served as a member of the Deutsche Telekom Board of Management from 2011 to 2025. She initially led the company’s European business and, from 2017, oversaw the Technology and Innovation division. In this capacity, she played a pivotal role in driving the group’s digital transformation, with a focus on artificial intelligence, network technology, cybersecurity, and global supply chains.
Claudia Nemat, born in Bensberg in 1968, spent nearly two decades at McKinsey & Company, where she ultimately served as Senior Partner and Co-Head of the global technology sector. During her tenure, she advised international corporations on large-scale technology and cultural transformation initiatives and held leadership positions within the IT industry in both Europe and the United States.
After stepping down from the Deutsche Telekom board, she is now focusing on mandates in international supervisory bodies and engagements in deep tech and AI companies. She is also a member of the University Council of the University of Cologne and was awarded the Heinrich Hertz Visiting Professorship at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in 2021.
